As the son of a career military man I grew up in fantastic places like Alaska and Japan, but call Dallas Texas home. I moved to Indiana in 1992 and was introduced to the Lord by my wife's mother "Pinky" in 1995. (Talk about a life changing experience!) Valarie and I were married in October of 1995 and have three children, Chantal, Alexandria and Jonathon. I started playing music at the age of 13, avidly pursuing the rhythm instruments. After 20 years of on-again off-again musical endeavors, God called me to into the worship ministry. Since that time I have had the honor of leading praise and worship in three different churches and being a part of several worship teams. I have had the wonderful experience of being a part of a semi-professional Christian recording endeavor with the group Hart and Soul, and playing with a "very near" professional worship team in Midland Texas. Throughout my entire musical journey, God has impressed upon me that no matter where you are, our musical gifts are given us to worship Him and lead others in the same way!
We have attended Southside Christian Church since 2008 and have been intricately involved in the praise and worship team since our arrival! This was an answer to prayer as we were between Church's, just having returned from Midland Texas. I was asked to step into the Worship Leader role in April of 2009, and lead a team that is filled with fantastic and versatile singers and musicians. Let it be known, we are all about praising God! It is definitely an honor to work with such musical talent, and to partner with and alongside our senior minister Craig.
I definitely echo our past worship leader (and present worship team member) Greg Morris. He stated so accurately "If someone had told me 20 years ago that I would end up with such a wonderful family and be the Worship Leader at Southside Christian Church, I would have said he or she were out of their mind…" Let it be known ~ if God can use me, he can use anyone! Again quoting Greg and our Southside motto “It truly goes to show that we are just imperfect people, living imperfect lives under the amazing grace of a perfect GOD!!"
