I was born in Denver and grew up in Santa Fe, NM. After high school I did 3 years on active duty in the Army -- stationed most of that time in Germany. I stopped off on my way home to get a finance degree at IU (that was 1990). I spent several years in accounting working in various businesses in town -- cruising along in life trying to love my wife, Amy (that's her below) and raising a family the best way I knew how. Basically I was minding my own business and trying to figure out what life was all about when I got hooked up with a guy down the street who happened to love the Lord. That was 1999.
My life has never been the same! After committing my life to Jesus Christ I felt a call to ministry. Following these words of advice, "the call and the commission don't always come at the same time," I waited and prayed.
In 2004 I began work on a Seminary degree from Cincinnati Christian University http://www.ccuniversity.edu and have been commissioned in the U.S. Army in the Chaplain Candidate Program http://www.goarmy.com/chaplain/index.jsp. I am humbled to be able to serve now as Pastor amongst the body of believers where I came to faith. I have a passion to get the Message of God's Amazing Grace out to ordinary people who are looking for some meaning in this life in a busy & changing world.
I laugh when I think what the Lord had in store for my life here in B-town when I was just "on my way home" from the Army. Had I known then I probably would have asked for a direct flight. But looking back I wouldn't change a thing! What's next?

I came to Bloomington in 1992 chasing one man (that's him above) and running from another one. After finally understanding God's unconditional love for me, I quit looking and started trusting. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in 2000 and have worked full time in ministry support at Southside since 2004. Chris and I celebrated fifteen years of marriage this past summer and have four fabulous children and one grandson! Our family is not perfect, but God's love for us is and we can do nothing but keep trusting in him.
I'm trying now to train our new pastor -- so keep me in your prayers!

I grew up in Boonville, Indiana. My older brother introduced me to God when I was eleven years old. Like many other people I didn't continue to follow the Lord, and when I tried to live my life on my own I just messed it up. I started playing in a rock 'n roll band in my freshman year of high school, and I lived that kind of life for a while. After a failed marriage, I dove into the bar/band scene until I met Rhonda. My sister worked with Rhonda in Bloomington and introduced us. My daughter Cindy (from my previous marriage), was born in 1982, so when Rhonda and I got together she was almost six years old. We were married three months after we met, and that was in 1988. I knew that God had brought us together, and within a year I rededicated my life to Christ!
We attended Southside Christian Church somewhere around 1991, and I started playing drums and singing with the worship team within a year or two. In 1994 our son Kyle was born, and three years later in 1997 we were blessed with another daughter who we named Kelsie.
I was asked to step into the Worship Leader role in January of 2006. Two years have passed since then, and here I am! It is an honor to work with Chris & Amy and the leaders at Southside! Everyone here is so excited about what God is doing with this church!
If someone had told me 20 years ago that I would end up with such a wonderful family and be the Worship Leader at Southside Christian Church, I would have said he or she were out of their mind, because I wouldn't have thought I could have deserved this! It truly goes to show that we are just imperfect people, living imperfect lives under the amazing grace of a perfect GOD!!
